Charles was responsible for the Robert Mondavi Reserve and Napa Valley wines from the 1980s until 1994, and the first twelve vintages of Opus One were produced under his watchful eyes. Most recently, since 2007, he has overseen the modernization of the vineyards at Quintessa, creating wines of unprecedented quality from the estate.
